Our Board

Ellen Ficklen

A member of the board of Anne Frank House from  2013-2020, Ellen served as the organization's co-president for two years. During her time on the board, Ellen focused on writing grants and building foundation relationships, increasing both the dollar amount of grants received and the number of foundations with which Anne Frank House, Inc. partners. Previously, Ellen served on the board of visitors of National Cathedral School and was a member of the professional advisory group for clinical pastoral education at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital. A career writer and editor, Ellen held a number of editorial positions in the Washington, DC area, and she has been widely published throughout the U.S. She is a lecturer at Johns Hopkins University, where she developed and teaches a class on science narratives in the university's M.A. in Science Writing Program.
