As Director of Lending and Investment at Local Initiatives Support Coalition - or - LISC, Melanie oversees lending initiatives for LISC's DC office, which produces 12% of LISC's national loan volume. The real estate investments by a Community Development Bank facilitate the production and preservation of affordable housing and community facilities in the District of Columbia and surrounding regions. Melanie is responsible for financing over 1,400 affordable homes for lower-income DC families by developing and managing an $90+ million investment portfolio since 2020, which will leverage an additional $660 million in investment. Melanie earned her Masters in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and her bachelor’s in Urban Studies from the Washington University in St. Louis.
